Privacy Policy for Stardrops
Last updated: 5 September 2026
Stardrops does not collect your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no crash reporting. The developer receives nothing about you or your device. The one outside service the app talks to is the App Store or Google Play, and only to handle the in-app purchase described below.
What the app stores on your device
Stardrops saves a few settings locally so the game remembers them between sessions. This information stays on your phone, is never transmitted to the developer, and is deleted when you uninstall the app:
- The display name you choose for yourself
- How many games you have played and won, per difficulty level
- Your language preference
- Whether sound is on or off
- Whether you have seen the how-to-play screens
- Whether the local-game hosting unlock has been purchased
Local multiplayer
Local multiplayer connects phones directly to each other over your own WiFi network. When you join a game, the display name you chose is sent to the other players in that game so they can see who is at the table, and their names are sent to you. Nothing else about you or your device is shared.
These connections do not pass through any server. No game data reaches the developer, and none of it leaves your local network. The connection exists only while the game is running.
Your device may ask for permission to find devices on your local network the first time you host or join a game. That permission is used only to reach the other players’ phones, and the game works fully without it in solo mode.
Purchases
Hosting a local game is a one-time purchase. Joining a game someone else hosts is free and needs no purchase.
The payment is handled entirely by Apple’s App Store or Google Play. Stardrops never sees your payment details, and the developer receives nothing that identifies you — only the anonymous sales figures the stores report to every developer.
The app records one thing as a result: a note on your device that the unlock is owned, so hosting works without a network connection. Restore asks the store whether the account you are signed in with owns the unlock, and the answer is yes or no. The purchase belongs to that store account rather than to the phone, which is why it survives reinstalling the app or moving to a new device.
Children
Stardrops is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no data at all, it collects no data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top.
